Happy New Year. I know it's March, but 2009 has just started for this band. This weekend just gone we spent three amazing, inspiring and tiring days in Bink Bonk Studios with our friend and honourary forth member Mat Sampson. In those three days we recorded four brand new songs of which we are monumentally proud. These songs really sum up this band perfectly. Whilst all being quite different (there is a punk/country and western cross over alongside a Def Leppard style epic ballad - sounds weird and needs to be heard to be believed) they are all very much Treehouse Burning and all have the song writing quality we so proudly believe is our greatest strength.

I am an inspired man. I want the world to hear these songs. Keep checking back to find out how.

What is going on?

Ladies and Gentleman,

It has been a little while! Sorry about that. Want to know what we've been up to? Well, despite the lack of updates we have been busy - and not just with TB. We have another EPs worth of monster tunage set for a 2009 release. Stu broke his elbow which has out a stop to his drumming for the next few weeks/months. Jamie and I are going to be putting some acoustic shows in the diary so keep an eye out for that.

So what else has been going on with each of us? Here goes....

Me - Gav

I have been keeping my bass warm by stepping in as the new permanent bass player for the mighty FIRSTOFTHEGIANTS. We can be seen gigging in and around Bristol at least every month. We have a new set of songs which are excellent. Come check us out!

Jamie

J has recorded an EP under the name 'BOY WITH AN 8 TRACK MIND'. He recorded every instrument and vocal himself and wrote every note. In my honest opinon the three songs on the EP are pure genius. Three of my favourite ever songs. Sound over the top? Well he is my brother. Seriously though it is amazing. I'll be releasing the EP through shakeshakerecords when I get a spare minute.

Stu

Stu is playing bass with Bristol band MONKEY FIGHTERS. Their debut EP is out on shakeshakerecords on 15th December. Seriously worth a purchase. Stuey-Boy is every bit as good a bass player as he is a drummer. The boy puts me to shame!

OK so thats about it. If you are reading this having not downloaded any of our stuff, all three EPs are available on iTunes and most other download services. Well see you soon...probably next year.

WE ARE BACK BABY!

Hello there. It has been a while right? So what's been going on? Well, we split up, got back together, I got married, we made a new EP and now we are releasing it on our label (shakeshakerecords). It has been busy. We are glad to be back and we will get a gig or two arranged soon hopefully.

Fresh out of the Studio

As the above title suggests we have just finished our third studio session with the absolute legend that is Mat Sampson in his awesome Bink Bonk Studio. We have recorded another 5 tracks and they have turned out amazingly well.

"A LIFE WITHOUT LOVE"

You will find a brand new song available to download absolutely free. The song is called "A life without love" and shows a completely new side to the band. Acoustic guitars, sweeping, epic, lush harmonies and not a drum in sight.

Although we have played acoustic shows before, this is our first acoustic recording. It is actually the first of a few we plan to do over the summer before we release the next single.

BBC Radio & a gig

We are playing the Fleece in Bristol on Thursday with the amazing STONE FROM DELPHI.

Come on down for a evening of ROCK. We'll be kicking the whole thing off at about 8.45.

Also, we were played on BBC Radio Bristol on Sunday Morning. The excellent Bristol Uncovered show played THE ESCAPE. The whole show is bloody brilliant - you should defintely have a listen. Here is the playback link - we are on about 1hr 35mins in.

The Comeback

What a week it has been in camp TB. On Saturday we had our comeback gig at our local - The Ring O Bells - and what a night it was! The Trilby, The Gush and Marlon were all excellent support and we played the best set we have ever done with two encores for the crazy crowd. Well over 100 people turned up and we were told by the landlord to stop letting people in. We managed to raise some cash for Ashton Court so all in all a cracking night!

On Monday night we returned to the Fleece for our first gig there in a year or maybe even two. After Saturdays blinder we weren't expecting too much from this one - other than playing an awesome venue to whoever we could entice out on a Monday night. Unfortunately our headline set was cut short due to a drumming injury - poor Stu smashed his hand and was in agony. Like a true rocker he gaffer taped himself up for one last song. A brief review of the show is below.

A text message from Stu this morning confirms he has broken his finger. Poor bugger did the same thing when we recorded our second EP "The Escape". He broke his finger when recording track one of five and carried on playing to the end. Listen to the EP - he doesn't miss a beat.

Next gig - Friday 11th May - Louisiana.

Treehouse Burning - The Fleece - 30/4 - Ed
If TB are like Clark Kent on record, live they are Superman. Even with a sparse audience they delivered, rocking hard and melodic. In fact they rocked so hard the drummer broke his finger. Still, he taped it up and they finished the understandably short set with The Escape which attracted some female adulation. Oh yeah, the cute singer from Santa Dog was there and she seemed to be feeling the mix of old, new and current songs. Someone give them a deal so they can replace the water with pints of Vodka, make more music and break more bones. I feel a little guilty as I told the guitarist to break a leg before the show - that's showbiz for good luck. Don't ask me why. Maybe Def Leppard can help with the drummer - I believe they have some sort of convoluted contraption for just this eventuality. Hopefully this fire will never go out. Last night they threw some petrol and fireworks in for good measure.

Just to remind you that we have two gigs in the next week.

Firstly, our comeback gig at the Ring O Bells in Nailsea this coming Saturday (28th April). Also playing are Marlon, The Gush and The Trilby. It is £3 entry and it is going to be a cracking night.

Then on Monday 30th April, we are headling the Fleece in Bristol. Entry to this bad boy is FREE!

Ashton Court Benefit Gig

We have just sorted an Ashton Court Festival Benefit gig. It's on Sat 28th April at the RING O BELLS, Nailsea. Please come and show your support for such a good cause! Ticket info and other bands to be confirmed although we have asked three other amazing Nailsea bands to play - THE RINKY DINKS, MARLON and THE TRILBYS. Just awaiting their confirmation!

Where did February go?

Well hello amigos. Blog entry number two coming up.

Where the hell did February go? Not much happened. We booked a gig at the Louie and had to cancel it pretty sharpish (personal reasons I'm afraid). We are however stepping up a gear in March. We have had a really nice break but now it is back to business.

We have a few plans in place and want to get back on the local scene in style. As I said before we are planning to record an acoustic EP and will make the songs available free on our myspace page for a short time. Keep your eyes peeled. The songs we have planned for this are pretty damn special.

We are also hoping to put on our own Bristol gig, hopefully with a few of our friends, to make our return after the few months with our feet up - more news to come on this. Hopefully the summer will be full of shows, festivals if we can and the odd acoustic gig.

Things in the TB camp are great right now. 2007 is going to be a good year.

Hello there people.

Welcome to the Treehouse Burning blog. This is the place where you will find out the most up to date news from the band - mainly because it is a stit load easier than updating the website and we are pretty damn lazy.

Right now we are about to start rehearsing the songs for our new EP. Things are going well and we are hoping for a summer release on shakeshakerecords. We are also considering doing an acoustic EP which we may release beforehand. Jamie has just got himself a great acoustic guitar and written some songs that deserve to be heard in acoustic form. We may do some acoustic shows aswell - who knows.

Keep checking this space. I promise to keep you up to date!
